veteran cartoonist J R Williams creator of The Worry Wart and Out Our Way died Monday night in Huntington Memorial Hospital at age 69. a Virginia road resident he drew 12 000 cartoons for more than 700 newspapers over 30 years with private funeral services set for today at 3 pm and interment in Mountain View Cemetery.

Herbert Spencer Hicks known as Jimmy, longtime resident of San Marino, died Sunday June 16 at his Lorain road home. He was a native of Huntingdon County Pennsylvania and member of several groups including San Marino Community Church Masonic Lodge South Pasadena and Bell Telephone Company Pioneers of America. Survived by wife Edwina a daughter Nancy Grenier granddaughter Karen Grenier two brothers and a sister services were held at the Chapel of Turner Stevens and Turner in Alhambra.
