The House bill to permanently repeal the death tax moves to the Senate, which has previously blocked similar efforts under Democrat majorities. Proponents say bipartisan support exists but expect strong opposition and a 60 vote filibuster requirement. Dreier and Cox pledge to press on to end the tax.
