The San Marino Board of Education approves a teacher salary schedule adding 125000 to fund raises. Initial base rises to 6850 with max at 14120 for step 13, class 6. Increases use 2 4 6 percent scales and include sabbatical leave policy and open end salary clause.
San Marino High School senior Roger Jordan received honorable mention to the Prep All American basketball team. He becomes the third San Marino player honored, following Bob Sommers in 1959 and David Ralph in 1964.
San Marino announces Dodger Night at 8 p.m. Saturday August nine with the Chicago Cubs as opponents. Tickets are $4 without bus and $5 with round trip bus. mail orders to the San Marino Tribune, 2260 Huntington Drive. Wayne Peyton and Cian Clark co chairmen say local celebrities will again join the pregame show. A later announced surprise adds intrigue.

Mrs. Eugene Dryden elected president of the K L Carver PTA presided over the newly formed PTA board meeting at Mrs. William Bassett’s home. The slate includes Mmes Richard Gillaspie and Eugene Platz as vice presidents and other listed officers and chairmen. Mrs. Dryden, a Texas native, has held multiple community roles and was named an Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1966.

The final Little League week runs to Saturday June 21 with games moved to 8 30 a m 11 a m and 1 30 p m to finish before the Awards Picnic at Lacy Park. Brad Crow heads the All Star committee which now allows player and manager input.
The Camelot setting at Grad Night will be open to the public today from 5 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from noon to 3 p.m. at the school. Visitors can view the themed setup, with graduates and staff present for tours and photos.
The City Council hired Lockman and Associates to obtain petition signatures for forming a public parking district in the Mission area. They will pay up to 500 dollars to contact landowners within the proposed district. Petitions must be signed by 60 percent of property owners before a public hearing date is set. City Attorney Charles Martin expects petition results within 30 days.
San Marino High School will hold the 14th annual commencement on the athletic field for 290 seniors of the Class of 1969. The day begins with an Awards Assembly at 10 a.m. followed by the graduation ceremony and related activities.
South Pasadena San Marino YMCA hosts a week long campus caravan for high school boys and girls August 12 19. Dr and Mrs Harris lead visits to Mills College UC Berkeley UC Davis Sacramento State University Pacific UC Santa Barbara Cal Poly UC Santa Cruz San Jose State UC Santa Clara and Stanford.
