San Marino Resident Killed in Car Collision
Wilbur R. Jacobs a San Marino author and history educator aged 78 was killed Monday evening when his Volvo was broad sided by a Mercedes driven by a teenage motorist near the Huntington Drive La Presa intersection. The California Highway Patrol withheld names and said the accident occurred about 6 10 p.m. with Jacobs driving westbound on Huntington turning south onto La Presa at an uncontrolled intersection.

SMHS Alumnus Penner Wins College Humanitarian Award
Stanford University senior Kristine Penner is among five students awarded the Howard R. Swearer Student Humanitarian Award for public service. The prize includes 1500 to support a student chosen service program. the event occurs June 22 at Notre Dame in South Bend. Penner previously interned on Immigrant Health policy researching Welfare Reform impacts.
