Council Approves Subdivisions In City Meeting

In a Wednesday session chaired by acting mayor W L Valentine, the council approved two subdivision maps the Otto Wildey Inc. project north of Huntington drive and east of San Marino avenue and the George Patton estate unit along Huntington drive to Euston. Paved streets will be five inches Mecadam 70 feet wide with underground utilities and paving costs shared with San Marino. Alhambra officials obtained permission to relay paving along San Marino avenue Lorain road and Sherwood at city inspection.

European Journalists Visit Caltech Under Carnegie Promotion

Fourteen European journalists toured the California Institute of Technology under a Carnegie Foundation program for international peace. Dr. Millikan outlined founders' dreams and the campus growth, including a new million dollar building project. They viewed aviation development and the Guggenheim wind tunnel, testing a 200 mph wind, then joined a luncheon at the Huntington Hotel with city officials and chamber hosts.

Loyal Round Table Knights Honor Scouts

The Loyal Knights of the Round Table honor Boy Scouts of the World this week and confer life honorary knighthood on Lord Robert Baden Powell for meritorious service to humanity. Other past honorees include Dr. Robert A. Millikan and Thomas A. Edison among six, with a Pasadena program at the Athletic Club led by Kenyon J. Scudder.
