Volunteers for San Marino campaigned hard as Proposition N passed 76 percent yes with 523 for and 1650 against while Proposition O drew 5139 for and 1684 against with absentee ballots 287 for and 112 against. The measures authorize a 900000 collection over three years starting July 1 1980, with funds to be distributed via the city budget process through 1981. Mayor Lynn Reith forecast budget decisions next month and thanked hundreds of volunteers led by Chuck Reed and others for educating residents on the city’s finances.

SMHS Principal Robert C Harris announced a two week run of senior events for the class of 1980. Awards assembly Friday 10am to noon Neher Auditorium honors scholarships and recognitions. Baccalaureate Sunday 8 pm Neher Auditorium features Dr Neil C Warren with band and chorus. Graduation Friday June 13 7 pm at the athletic field with five tickets per graduate and contact the district office for more. Grad Night Friday evening follows. Todd Haupt will welcome. 24 seniors participate outside musical groups.
