Margaret MacKenzie Chalmers 555 Sierra Madre Boulevard Pasadena died Sunday. She was the wife of William Chalmers, long time city engineer here. Born in Blairgowrie Scotland she lived in the area 40 years. Private services were held in Memory Chapel Pasadena with Dr. R D Morrison officiating. Interment at San Gabriel Cemetery. Survived by husband two sisters Mary Grant and Joan Caggie and nephews Hector and Russell Kennedy.

About 400 members of the Friends of the Huntington Library and guests attended Friends Day as the library opened its largest ever Coronation of Elizabeth II exhibition. Gifts from the archive included 1500 books and manuscripts bequeathed by Mrs. Mary W. T. Dickinson and a bronze bust of Robert Louis Stevenson.
