Roy E. Simpson signed a four year contract as superintendent of the San Marino South Pasadena City Schools. Margaret Rauch elected to replace Dorothy Talbert as secretary. Rauch previously served as secretary to Dean William Nicholl at Pomona College. She takes duties August 1, interim secretary Mrs. Cowles will be relieved. Betty Lathrop promoted to secretary to replace Edith Kearns who resigns for marriage. Budget revised and to be published before the August 1 public hearing.

Ambulance Fund Exceeds Goal in Benevolent Event
The San Gabriel Valley Newspaper Women’s Association fundraiser at the Byron Fitts ranch near Monrovia drew over 500 attendees and cleared an estimated six hundred dollars for the Red Cross ambulance project. Mrs. Carl Blom led Red Cross sewing efforts at Huntington School, seeking more volunteers.

Child on Bicycle Injures Young Boy in Lorain Road Incident
A young girl riding a bicycle struck the four and a half year old son of Mr and Mrs John Lucas on a Lorain road lawn. The boy suffered a long cut behind the ear requiring 15 stitches after treatment by Dr. O H Hanson. The accident occurred Saturday evening and was more painful than expected.
