A second car veered across the highway causing Kent’s car to overturn and render him unconscious. His companion Orson Haight Cedar City escaped injury. Two women in the other vehicle were thrown out. one died and the other, Mrs Roberson, survived and admitted drinking in Rand Springs prior to the crash. An inquest in Barstow cleared Kent and Haight of blame. The surviving woman’s condition was noted. The two men then rode a bus to Los Angeles, leaving the car for repairs.
