Air Conditioner for Council okayed in San Marino
San Marino City Council approved adding air conditioning to City Hall chambers this month. The low bid came from Bryant at 1510 dollars, with O'Kane and Sales at 1697 and Altadena Heating and Plumbing at 2887. A three ton unit should be ready by August, marking near completion of air conditioning in city offices. City Manager Martin warned that state compensation insurance costs will rise by 4 to 5 thousand dollars next year, and crossing guards may be needed as school bus service likely declines. The first draft of the city budget is due soon and assessed value is down by about 500 thousand. The Planning Commission granted a 60 day extension to SS Felicitas and Perpetua Church on Palo Mar road. Man Injured Working On City Shop
Ralph Aguilar of 325 Main Street Alhambra was injured last Friday while working on a new shop building in the San Marino City Fals yard area according to City Hall. The accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. He fell onto a steel rod causing a skin injury and was taken to San Gabriel Community Hospital by Dolphins Service.
