San Marino's Fourth Mayor H. Stanley Bent
H Stanley Bent served as mayor of San Marino from 1942 to 1945 and on the city council from 1929 to 1950. A builder by trade his firm Bent Construction expanded into dam and reservoir work building 32 dams including Devil's Gate. He died February 8 1953 and was praised by colleagues for long public service and wartime leadership.

Two Fires Reported in San Marino This Week
San Marino Fire Department tackled two blazes this week. At 2350 Sherwood Road on Sunday a garage owned by G L Pellerin suffered 1000 dollars in damage along with damaged power and telephone lines and two trees. On Tuesday crews fought a wood pile and patio roof blaze at 1785 Sharon Place caused by an open incinerator near 2690 Lorain Road.
