Miss Barbara Gibbs wore a white taffeta gown with a tight bodice and hoop skirt when she wed Jacques Stalder Yeager at Church of Our Saviour last Thursday afternoon. The ceremony included a lace bonnet, three quarter length veil, and a prayerbook bouquet of white orchids.
The Yeagers plan a Canada motor tour for their wedding trip and will reside in Riverside after August 1. Both UC Berkeley graduates, she belonged to Kappa Kappa Gamma and he to Delta Tau Delta.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Benton Van Nuys hosted an outdoor dinner for a large group at their residence at 975 Orlando Road celebrating the second anniversary of moving in. Guests included Al Wright E T Foley Stuart O Melveny Dr Raymond Mixsell William Munro and Peg Hoover among others.
Mr and Mrs Harry J Zell announce the engagement of their daughter Norma Mary to Cletus Jerome Oster The couple met at Ramona Convent and Immaculate Heart College Oster a Ohio State University engineering graduate and wartime US Army Air Force major The wedding is set for autumn Also Mrs Frank Hart and Enid travel to Sacramento to meet Enid's fiance family and plan for an August wedding to Malcolm P Douglass
Gabriel Valley Parlor 281 Native Daughters of the Golden West holds a potluck dinner at the American Legion Hall 24 North Stone Man Alhambra before its regular meeting. Arrangements are led by Mrs Glenn C Goodn and trustees with refreshments by Mrs George James and Ray Reeves. The 8 pm meeting includes reports from Grand Parlor June Sacramento delegates J Vincent LaBerge and Roscoe Neiger. Mr and Mrs William Meal relocate to 195 Roanoke Road from 2010 Lorain Road.
Newlyweds Mr and Mrs Robert T Stellar reside in Berkeley after a Santa Barbara honeymoon. The groom son of A Thurlow Stellar 1200 Adair street will enter the Church Divinity School in Berkeley mid September to study for the Episcopal ministry. Theodora Lair daughter of Dr and Mrs Howell P Lair of Tsiwan China former Pasadena residents wed June 24 at Pasadena Presbyterian Church with Dr Eugene Carson Blake officiating before 200 guests.
Plans for the thirteenth annual Flight of the Snowbirds on Sunday August 1 are in the hands of committees from Newport Harbor three yacht clubs. Walter K Lewis and J A Beck select the official starter while Nick DeMark Gates lead patrol judges. Balboa Yacht Club’s Dick Fenton will judge the course and Russell Craig with Sandy MacKay install markers. Robert Allan Jr. chairs the protest panel with Henry B Grandin leading recorders.
Miss Elizabeth Hager of 1837 Euclid Avenue sails from New York aboard the Queen Mary for South ampton tomorrow on an exchange teaching assignment in England. She will visit Scandinavia Italy and the Nile valley in Egypt and joins a Girl Scout Jamboree in Switzerland after a three week stay in England. She previously toured South America last summer.
