Enthusiastic supporters gathered on the San Marino Public Library lawn to mark the end of an eleven year campaign for a new 13 million library facility set to begin fall 2007. Mayor Bob Twist announced it was a go as campaign workers received shovels and helmets for the groundbreaking. Representatives from local civic groups attended along with Steven Koblik of the Huntington Library. Groundbreaking is slated for nine months from now with construction to start directly on the current site.

San Marino Board OKs Titan Stadium Field Track Contract
The San Marino school board unanimously approved bids totaling 2 527 285 for a synthetic athletic field and running track at Titan Stadium. Construction to begin next Monday with completion hoped for the 2005 Homecoming game on November 4. The Schools Foundation raised over 2.1 million to fund FieldTurf, track, and related facilities.
