Star of Pippin at Music Center May Be San Marino Native
A San Marino born actor plays the title role of Pippin at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion as part of a Broadway connected run ending August 25. Mike Rupert, son of Charles Ruppert production foreman for the San Marino Tribune, began singing early and joined the Mitchell Boys Choir. He was chosen at 15 by Gower Champion for The Happy Time and later starred in Pippin after a longtime stage path.

Tsunamis Defeat Caltech in Coastal Dual Meet Showdown
San Marino Tsunamis Aquatic Club topped Caltech Swim Club 310 to 255 at the high school pool. Aimee Richelieu led with three firsts including a Tsunamis record in the 9 to 10 girls 50 yard freestyle and a team record tie in the 50 yard butterfly. Multiple relay and individual wins across six and under to 15 to 18 groups propelled the victory with numerous medals for top placers.
