A 1966 city audit shows property tax income up from 543000 in 1956 to 830000 in 1966 with total revenues increasing from 971000 to higher levels. Salaries for police, fire, public works and administration have more than doubled, while debt remains low at 105900 on storm drain and library bonds.
With Councilman Wallace Chadwick absent the council took no action but recommended several proposals to balance the budget and maintain services without a tax increase. A final adoption may occur at next week’s regular meeting on July 12.
