CHP Targets Drunks and Speeders on July 4 Weekend
Baldwin Park Area officers of the California Highway Patrol will focus on major accident causing violations during the 4th of July period. They will watch for drinking drivers and enforce the 55 MPH speed limit on recreational mountain roadways in San Gabriel Canyon and Crystal Lake area. Five additional patrol cars will operate in mountain areas from 10:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. in staggered shifts.

Tennis Tourney Raises Money For More Light
A special tennis tournament sponsored by the San Marino Recreational Tennis Committee was held at Huntington and Carver courts to raise funds for improved lighting. Open to Huntington Junior High students and a parent or adult partner, the event featured 36 pairs. Father and son teams dominated the standings with Dan and Norm Slaught and Craig and Rich Haserot taking top honors. Second place honors went to Steve and Dick Marsh and Parker and Gene Lyons. Trophies were presented by Mrs. John Rossiter after the final matches last Friday night.
