The continuing series of incidents includes 15 small Lombardy road parkway trees knocked down with one broken and others uprooted. Park Superintendent Fred Sharp notes about 15 trees stolen and 25 damaged or uprooted in recent weeks. Three juveniles have been apprehended for damage on Monterey road.
The Old Mill Program Committee and Henry Clifford of the California Historical Society discussed operating plans. The City of San Marino will have a formal agreement drawn by the Historical Society for council approval.
Four residents in San Mario received 30 additional days to begin abatement of illegal or nonconforming structures in required sideyards. The city attorney Charlies R Martin will pursue legal action if compliance is not shown.

Final standings show Braves first, Giants second, Cards third, Pirates fourth, Phillies fifth, Dodgers sixth. Bleachers were filled at most games, with thanks extended to local sponsors for making the season possible.
Four persons including a San Marino youth were injured in two city accidents Tuesday. A motorcyclist, Ralph F. Ashauer, 21, of Arcadia, was knocked from his bike near Kenilworth avenue and Huntington drive and taken to Arcadia Methodist Hospital. In a second collision at Canterbury road and Winston avenue, drivers John K. Winter, 17, and Helene B Wright, 57, plus passenger Richard J Mispagel, 17, were hurt and taken to San Gabriel Community Hospital.
San Marino planners approve a new street off Huntington drive between Eedford road and West drive, to be called Waverly Place. The cul-de-sac serves eight lots developed by Huntington Construction Company of Arcadia as curbs utilities and infrastructure are installed.
The San Marino Planning Commission denied a variance to convert an Oak Knoll avenue residence into a 19 bed convalescent home and postponed a decision on a Rosalind Road parcel split. Residents spoke against the proposed use as officials asked for a master plan to avoid landlocked parcels.
The City Council renewed a lease with Pacific Corrugated Culvert Company for city owned storage land in Irwindale. The firm will pay $125 per month for a portion of five acres, a $25 increase, and continue using San Marino refuse storage land under the revised terms.
The two new trustees Mrs. J Terry Maxwell and William Poindexter will join the Board of Education at a special morning meeting at 8 a.m. to organize the board for the coming year and elect officers. Both have attended recent meetings as spectators.
Funeral services for Bruce Halsted Bryan 15 occur at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Gardens Mountain View Mausoleum Altadena. He died June 29 after a brief illness while a freshman at San Marino High School son of Mr and Mrs Paul G Bryan of Chester Avenue and brother of Paul G Bryan Jr USC student. Memorials may be sent to the San Marino High School Stadium Committee at Security First National Bank San Marino.

An Arcadia man, Jerome D. Moore, 58, was injured Sunday morning when his car struck three angle parked autos on Huntington Drive near Kenilworth Avenue. He was taken to Huntington Hospital with facial lacerations after the 11 15 a.m. crash that sent one vehicle onto the sidewalk.
San Marinos plan a community Fourth of July parade at Lacy Park next Monday July 5 led by Mayor Harry Hitchcock in a 1930 Lincoln Phaeton. Cars and decorated bikes carry local groups Boy and Girl Scouts high school band drill team and costumed entries plus a Uncle Sam American Colonist King George II and Redcoat. Park events start at 6 p.m. with games a band concert and a community sing followed by contests rolling pin throwing bubble gum blowing and whistling. Invoked by Rev David Rees Navy chaplain the program ends with the Mayor's welcome at 7 3 p.m. Parade forms at 4:30 p.m. in the school east lot under Robert Barlow.

The City Council tentatively awarded a 67000 contract to Osborne and Company for Sierra Madre boulevard work. The bid was about 1100 above the engineer’s estimate of 65850 and covers west side reconstruction from Robles to the city limits and resurfacing from Robles to Euston crossing with new gutters. Pending state gas tax fund approval, additional resurfacing may proceed on several San Marino streets.
Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a $10,000 allocation for resurfacing San Pasqual Street in San Marino and Pasadena. The project covers the section from west of Berkeley Avenue to west of San Gabriel Boulevard under the County Road Department road improvement program.
