James T. Farrar and Kenneth R. Veronda Ph D have been elected to the 1985 Board of Trustees of Community Hospital of San Gabriel. Farrar is associate vice president of investments at Dean Witter Reynolds and a Tennessee native living in San Marino for over 16 years with a family. Veronda, headmaster of Southwestern Academy San Marino and Rimrock Ariz, is a Stanford and Gould Institute graduate and former San Marino Chamber of Commerce president, also a Pasadena Boys Choir School founding president. Two Women Arrested After PCP Finding in Pico Rivera Stop
Police report two women from Pico Rivera and El Monte were jailed after a traffic stop on Garfield Avenue last Tuesday uncovered a large quantity of PCP. Officers said the amount appeared not for personal use. A 18 year old West Hollywood man was also arrested after being spotted fleeing an attempted burglary on La Calla Place. Neighbor reports interior alarm trip and arrest followed.

Terry Dellinger was elected president of the San Marino Chamber of Commerce at the regular monthly meeting. Other officers include Larry Dean vice president Ben Bassett treasurer and Kimberly Berry and Anthony Wong as student representatives. Box Top Drive Aims to Restore Statue of Liberty
Carver School students collected about 2000 Kellogg box tops to aid Liberty restoration but remain under halfway to the goal. Principal William Langton told Monday’s Chamber of Commerce meeting the drive will continue over six weeks. If 10000 tops are reached Kellogg’s will donate 1500 in Carver’s name. The chamber will place student made collection bins at local businesses. Currently bins sit in the school district Carver offices and the Tribune.
