San Marino council holds public information session on water service
The San Marino City Council held a special meeting last Wednesday to review the city's water service with no action taken. Residents Ben Austin and William Angles challenged proposed rate increases by California American Water Co. and asked for cost and profit details. City Manager Stevenson stated a presentation on a new franchise agreement would be given within 60 days. The San Marino Chamber of Commerce plans its monthly meeting Monday at noon to welcome newly elected directors for 1986.

San Marino reports five year low in home burglaries
San Marino Police Chief James Moore released a five year analysis showing 56 residential burglaries in 1985, a 39 percent drop from 1984 and a 72 percent decline since 1981. Part I crimes fell 31 percent from 1981 levels, while total arrests dropped 33 percent. Driving under the influence remained the top arrest category, and traffic crashes reached a five year low of 275 with 62 caused by speeding.
