Council Advised 'No' On Redevelopment District
City council debated creating a Redevelopment District for Ban Marit to cope with finances. At a November 2 meeting Ben Austin proposed a three page plan to proclaim the whole city as a CRA district, but council did not include it in advisory recommendations. San Marino Sets Five Year Police Fire Assessment Plan
San Marino City Council approved a four year police and fire assessment starting 1983 84 with a voter june 1983 measure. The plan bases charges on minimum lot sizes across seven zones leading to $195 to $585 per parcel in year one with yearly increases up to 10.5 percent. Exemptions include some long time homeowners and certain properties. Public hearing scheduled for February 17.
