Rainfall totals in San Marino rise after storms

Hopkins Dies of Heart Attack in South Pasadena
Funeral services were held for Max Rolland Hopkins who died suddenly last Thursday afternoon after collapsing while driving. He died at St. Luke's hospital from a heart attack shortly after being taken there. Hopkins and his wife Winifred F. operated a library on Huntington Drive. He was born in Tucson, educated at the School of Mines Rapid City, worked 16 years as superintendent for International Correspondence Schools in Philadelphia, served in World War I, and married January 17 eight? years ago. Surviving are his wife, two daughters Mrs. Clarence L. Berry and Mrs. Harry L. Warren, six grandchildren, and members of the family. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Al Malaikah Temple.

Law on Stopping for School Buses Clarified

P E Starts Removing Rails
By April 15 this year all rails along the Pacific Electric right of way will be removed and work may start on eliminating overhead wires. Officials signed a contract with Commercial Metals Company to remove rails on abandoned lines including the Monrovia line through San Marino. Most rails salvaged will be kept by PE while the rest go to steel mills as scrap.
