Sprotte Receives Purple Heart and Gold Star
Lt. C. G. Sprotte of the 1st Marines, Third Division, is decorated with the Purple Heart and Gold Star for wounds suffered at Iwo Jima. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Sprotte of 2915 Somerset and is married to Mrs. Norma Sprotte. He is recuperating at the U S Naval Hospital in San Diego while his unit’s medical officer, Capt. Jesse W. Allen, tends his wounds.
