Identification kits offered to San Marino families
The San Marino Police Department and San Marino Unified School District with support from the Chinese Club of San Marino and the Rotary Club of San Marino launched a Child Identification program. Kits will be sent home with district students on Tuesday January 21, 2003. The inkless fingerprint cards help parents record physical characteristics and fingerprints to aid authorities if a child goes missing.

Former San Marino teacher jailed for child annoyance
Taylor Morton a longtime San Marino High School law teacher and Mock Trial coach, pleaded no contest to two counts of annoying or molesting a child under 18. He was sentenced to 45 days in county jail, to be served on consecutive weekends, and must register as a sex offender, attend 12 sessions of counseling, and perform 30 days of community service. The case originated from private meetings with a student between December 2001 and January 2002 and involved alleged kissing and fondling.
