Huntington Hospital marks a century of Pasadena health care
Pasadena formed the Pasadena Hospital Association on February 18 1892 to bring a hospital to the growing town. From a 16 bed facility treating 329 patients in its first year Huntington Memorial Hospital has expanded to a 606 bed full service medical center with about 25000 inpatient and 116000 outpatient visits annually. Community support linked Huntington Memorial to the 1892 Pasadena Hospital Association and sustained funding led to the hospital’s opening after seven years of fundraising sparked by a $5000 pledge paired with a $20000 community match.
