Clydie E. Hopping 68 Alhambra industrialist and longtime resident died January 5 at his Laguna Beach home after a nine month illness. Funeral held at San Marino Community Church with Reverend McClellan. Entombment in Pasadena Mausoleum. He co founded Alhambra Foundry Co. Ltd. in 1923 and served as president and board chairman. He earlier worked for Santa Fe Railroad and started a real estate brokerage. He served 18 months overseas in World War I medical corps and later joined the foundry business.

Annexation Petition Seeks District Inclusion for Property
Paul S. Armstrong filed with the San Marino Board of Education for the annexation of about five acres he owns at 6849 No. Vista. The land borders the district on two sides and officials suspect plans to subdivide. President Robert Treuer asked a full investigation so the board can act when referred by the County Supervisors. Percy Clark Bowater a former BoBell's tea room owner in San Marino died New Year day in Pasadena. He was born in London and lived in Pasadena 35 years. A musician scholar and chess author he worked in the Chel sea district for 16 years. Private services were held at Forest Lawn January 4.
