Fire Destroys Garage and Automobile at Kellogg Home
A garage attached to the I. J. Kellogg residence at 763 Santa Anita Avenue burned last Tuesday afternoon, destroying the garage and an automobile and causing total losses estimated over 8000 dollars. The fire, discovered shortly before 4 p.m. by a passerby, was confined to the building by prompt fire department response. Mrs. Kellogg had been in the yard within half an hour of the blaze, and Mrs. Robert J. Barnes of 747 Santa Anita notified the department.

Stolen Car Recovered Suspect Captured Here
Quick action by Officer James Moore led to the arrest of a car theft suspect and recovery of a stolen convertible. The suspect Harvey Manuel Wheeler, 21, of Long Beach, was found parked at Huntington and Cambridge at midnight and held overnight before being turned over to the Wilshire division for arraignment.

Services for Mrs Letterman Held in Alhambra Church
Final rites were held Tuesday for Mrs Masie Letterman who died Saturday at her home on Roanoke Road. The service took place at the Little Stone Church of Turner Stevens and Turner in Alhambra. She is survived by four sisters, Amelia Etten and Ann E. Scherling of San Marino and Francis Etten and Elsie B. Etten of Alhambra. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery.

Fire survey nears report on San Marino rates
The Board of Fire Underwriters completed inspections in San Marino and is assembling data for a report and recommendations to lower fire insurance rates.
