A gas explosion at 2430 Coniston Place in San Marino last Thursday near 5 p.m. caused more than ten thousand dollars in damage to the Versteeg residence. The blast blew out windows, ripped plaster, and collapsed the roof before gas officials cut the leak. Mrs. Versteeg, alone in the house, was uninjured as fire crews fought the basement fire for an hour. the gas company will arrange reconstruction or replacement while the family temporarily relocates.
