Sometime between Friday night December 24 and Tuesday December 28 entry was made at the Donn Thomas shop at 946 Huntington Drive. $29 in currency and two checks totaling $58.56 were stolen. Police say entry was gained through a rear door using a chisel and ice pick on the Yale lock. other nearby businesses were probed but not entered. Rare Acta Sanctorum volume donated to Huntington Library
The Huntington Library in San Marino received a rare original edition of Acta Sanctorum from the Friends of the Library. The 1643 dated title page opens the set's first volume, with three centuries of ecclesiastical history compiled by the Bollandists. Three of the 64 volumes are on display through January for visitors studying medieval religious history.

San Marino police detained two out of town men for intoxication on New Year’s Day. James Howard Terry of Pasadena was seen weaving while driving a truck on Huntington Drive. Roy J. Baron of East Pasadena was found slumped over his parked car on Huntington Drive. A New Year’s Eve accident at El Molino and Wilson involved Gordon Racho of Alhambra who, half asleep, struck a gate at 1424 Wilson Avenue, injuring himself and damaging the car.

Naval Commander Folsom Visits Family During WWII Leave
Lieutenant Commander C. H. Folsom USNR, a medical officer, stayed several days with his family before returning to the South Pacific.
