The San Marino Players plan a production of Peter the Great at the Little Theater on Monterey road opening Monday January 27. Mrs. Margaret Bent Hopkins asks residents to lend Russian costumes furniture linen jewelry paintings and related items and to call Mrs. William Campbell to arrange pick up. Rehearsals began Wednesday under Wilfred Pettit who wrote the play.

Dead man found after New Year’s Eve drink incident
A report to the San Marino Police said a man appeared dead in Mayor Richard Lacy’s yard at 1518 Garfield avenue on New Year’s Eve. Police arrived to find the man briefly revived by alcohol and later taken to the city jail before release the next day.

Archie Hemming Exonerated in Burglary Case
Archie Hemming and G F Hannigan were arrested by Officer Frank of the San Marino police after a car loaded with druggist supplies was found in front of Bow Bells on Huntington Drive and the pair turned over to Los Angeles authorities. Hemming was exonerated in court in Los Angeles and resumed work at McKesson Wholesale Drug Co. He claimed ignorance of the theft and said his companion forced him into the situation.
