Peg Houghton, 22, chosen queen for San Marino's Silver Queen float in the Rose parade, will ride in a Ming silver gown with three attendants from local families and college students. The entry marks San Marino’s 25th anniversary with four white horses, pink roses, and a Grecian gown theme.

Passing Of Mrs Cronshey in San Marino

The sudden death of Mrs. George H H Cronshey on Christmas Eve at her home in San Marino shocks family and friends. Elizabeth Crowsey a native Wales married in 1899. she leaves husband and two sons H and George H, plus sister Mrs Mathew of Los Angeles and other relatives. Funeral services at Turner Stevens in Fremont Street were held with South Pasadena Chapter No. 272 performing rites and Forest Lawn attendance.

Christmas Eve Crash Injures Seven Year Old Girl

Seven year old Betty Jean Chapman of 2775 Monterey road was injured when she ran into a car driven by Lillie Mae Goldin of Riverside in front of the Marine Mission Market on Mission street. She was treated at Alhambra Health Center for a bruised leg and shock. The driver stopped and assisted. no arrest was made.

Library exhibits closed for two day holiday event

Huntington Library in San Marino closes on New Year’s Day and the following Sunday. Starting Tuesday January 4 the exhibitions reopen each afternoon except Mondays and stay open through October 1. Reservations can be telephoned to the exhibitions office by the visiting day morning.

Little Boys As Three Wise Men Sing Carols

Three eight year old boys from San Marino Reg Purdum, Roland Hooper, and Richard Lownes, with parental help, dressed as the biblical Three Kings and went caroling. They spread Christmas joy by visiting houses and singing of the Christ Child, offering a hopeful message about the season to readers.

Business Club Postpones Meet to January 10

Guild Meetings Resume After Holidays In San Marino

San Marino Woman's Club members return to guild activities in January with several meetings planned the first week and others later in the month. Preschool Age Children Studied by Young Mothers

Mothers of preschool children are invited to join the Observation Play group led by Mrs. Frank C. Wood Jr at Huntington School San Marino. Sponsored by the PTA the program includes Friday morning play group and Tuesday afternoon mother discussion sessions with illustrative notes from participants.
