A Christmas afternoon crowd filled Santa Anita Race Track with racing fans from wide areas. Track officials claimed capacity with 14 000 parking spaces filled and estimates suggesting around 42 000 people arrived by cars plus others by streetcars and outside parking as the program opened.
Cal Tech geology predicts Wilson Lake will rise to flood level by 1944. The water table, long sinking, is expected to climb again as springs near the Old Mill resume flow. San Marino should prepare for fresh flooding as the lake reemerges within the valley park limits.
The San Marino Tribune sends wishes for a bright new year 1935 filled with faith courage happiness and prosperity. It hopes readers renew business and personal good will and make 1935 a year free from 1934 fetters with renewed life and duty.
Three San Marino Troops enter miniature floats for the city parade. Floats will be six by ten feet and drawn by scouts. Troop 1 depicts Scouts Around the World with a world and airplane. Troop 2 features Ships at Sea with a golden marigold boat and Bobby Sears aboard.
San Marino Police report 13 200 cars passed to Santa Anita Tracks in Arcadia on Christmas Day with no accidents and only three arrests. Sixteen officers worked the holiday and another similar shift is planned for New Year. Two ambulances were spotted.

Sixteen Boy Scouts and leaders depart San Marino for a three day caravan to Trona with stops at Randsberg to tour a gold mine. After visiting the mine the group camps at Trona then tours the American Pot Ash and Chemical Company plant and mines before returning to San Marino late Saturday evening.
A holiday burglary at Henry V. Walker's residence at 1906 East California occurred between 2 and 9 p m on Christmas Day. Stolen items include a brown sealskin fur coat valued at 300 and three small gold rings set with garnet, pearl and sapphire. The front door appeared left open and fingerprints were found on Wednesday morning.
San Marino Boy Scouts Troop 1 held a Friday gala night to honor 16 boys who passed tenderfoot tests. The event featured a flag ceremony and demonstrations of Scout signs, salutes, handshakes, and badge use by Carlos Heintz and others. Bill Paul reviewed the Scout laws, Jimmie Tourtelotte recounted flag history, while Howard Wright and Donald Salisbury staged second class demonstrations including CPR.
Fortner and Loud inaugurate a new Ford dealership and super service station at Huntington Drive and Bedford Road in San Marino with an open house and public display of the 1935 Ford car. The event runs from 8 to 10 p.m. with music. F. Stanley Wood to manage and promises a full automotive headquarters offering Ford V-8, used cars, and service.
