Russell C. Eikenberry will be seated as Worshipful Master of San Marino Masonic Lodge 685 at 8 p.m. Saturday January 5 during annual officers installation ceremonies in the Temple 3130 Huntington Drive. Retiring Worshipful Master Roland D. Grant will be installing officer with G. Wesley Parr master of ceremonies and Ww. Glenn E. Irwin chaplain. Other officers to be installed are Roy J. Henville senior warden Peter M. Swanson junior warden Arthur C. Johnson treasurer Ralph L. Gorman secretary and Francis J. Marshal.
Police report several burglaries last week in San Marino. Ronald Medeiros at 1560 Bellwood lost 50 in silver dollars and 70 in cash. San Marino Hardware at 2134 Huntington Drive saw 230 in checks and 230 in cash taken. Hopkins Book Store at 2146 Huntington Drive saw purses emptied of 160.
Renewal statements for 1963 go to San Marino registered auto owners. Tom Bright, director of Motor Vehicles, says statements show 1963 registration fees. Payment is due January 2 but can be paid until February 4 without penalty. New license plates will be issued in 1963 for the first time.
The Tribune staff requests all ads and copy be sent by Friday, December 28 at 5 p.m. for the Thursday January 4 issue, noting the New Year holiday.
San Marino will observe New Years Day as a holiday with City Hall and Huntington Library closed for the long weekend from December 29 to January 2. Schools and many markets and businesses will be shut. The San Marino Tribune will not publish on New Years Day.
