Two separate collisions occurred Monday in San Marino. A Pontiac driven by 16 year old Donald Lee Fry of San Gabriel hit a parked truck owned by T. L. Wauthrine at 1480 Virginia Road on Oxford Road. A Pearl Harbor release states Corporal John C Chappell son of H Chappell 2205 El Molino was among 1000 high point army veterans brought back to the United States aboard the USS Miataka around December 22. The Miataka, part of a large naval fleet, arrived in San Pedro and passengers proceeded to separation centers to complete discharge formalities before civilian life.
