Crashes mar San Marino week with injuries and a police car overturn
A holiday surge in traffic produced several crashes in San Marino. James Brown of San Gabriel collided with C. J. Dean of Long Beach at Winston and Huntington, injuring Dean's family and sending them to Huntington Memorial Hospital. Officer M. E. Frank's cruiser overturned on Huntington near Chelsea with minor damage and no injuries. Other listed accidents caused no injuries.

Parade Traffic Routed For Rose Parade Day
Thousands visit Pasadena next Wednesday to view the Rose Parade. San Marino police under Chief Glenn McClung will manage traffic with extra officers from 7 am to 7 pm. Major arteries divert via Valley blvd to Rosemead and north to Pasadena to ease Huntington Drive and Foothill congestion.

Southwestern Cadets Celebrate Christmas and Welcome Baby Veronda
The Southwestern Military Academy cadets performed a Christmas program titled The Topsy Turvy Toy Shop and other plays under the direction of Misses Bonnie and Elsie Veronda. Untimely Death of Stan Welsh Shock Pasadena
Stanton P. Welsh of 2540 Monterey road was killed Friday night when his light coupe was struck by a locomotive at the Glenarm street crossing in Pasadena. Witnesses said the wigwag operated. engineer Charles Hunt of Los Angeles stated he did not see the car until impact. The car traveled 90 feet on the cow catcher before dropping aside the tracks, the engine continuing 70 feet before stopping. Welsh, a New York native who moved to California 20 years ago from Buckingham Missouri, leaves wife Ruth O Welsh two sons Stanton Parks Welsh Jr and John Truitt Welsh a brother William P Welsh a sister Mrs Ellsworth E Betts and his parents Mr and Mrs Frederick W Welsh of Bakersfield.

Christmas Tree Blaze Blamed on Defective Wiring
A Christmas tree belonging to H. S. Weavers at 2895 Clarence Ave. caught fire last Friday. The San Marino fire department extinguished it before major damage. Defective wiring was cited as the cause. the scorched walls and ceiling suffered about 75 dollars in damage.

Unusual Accident at Ryder Home Ends in Rescue
