Heavy Christmas mail nationwide sees San Marino post office delivering same day from arrival with perfect weather and healthy staff. New York and Eastern mail arrives here four days after posting, a record. Forty carriers and 21 college helpers expedite greeting cards and regular mail, predicting a 10 percent volume jump to a historic high.
Huntington School presents a two act Christmas pageant by eighth graders and seventh grade glee club. Kenneth White directed with lighting and music supervised by the vice principal. Janet Seward, Mary Jo Nelson, and Robert Henry lead a strong cast with others supporting in a richly staged holiday program.
The San Marino Branch of Pasadena Chapter American Red Cross delivered 128 civilian wearables in Christmas packages to McCornack General Hospital. David Beery son of Mr and Mrs Lloyd D Beery 2445 Roanoke Road has been discharged after two years service. He served in the States and overseas in Trieste and Leghorn Italy. He was a second string center on the SPSMHS varsity team and a winter class of 46 graduate.
James P. Kennedy became president of the San Gabriel Valley Associated Chambers of Commerce at a Los Angeles Chamber meeting. Kennedy is a Bank of America vice president and manager of the 160 East Colorado branch.

Firefighters answered three calls Monday night and noon during the holiday period. At 6 oclock a defective Christmas tree light caused a living room tree to ignite at 1396 Bradbury road. A separate chimney fire on 1425 Pasqualito avenue was stopped by a tile roof. At 11590 Oak Grove an overheated refrigerator motor caused smoke but no damage.
