In Kunming Yunnan during December 1944 a Salvation Army hospital and Hospitality House hosted U S troops and Flying Tigers chaplains. Amid air raids the base community sang carols by moonlight and shared meals as families evacuated to safer shelters. The Base Glee Club arrived with gifts, leaving candy for thirty five China Inland Mission School children.
