Mrs Eloise Humphries Ziegler of Santa Anita avenue died recently. Born in Abilene Texas she moved to California in 1923 and married Doyle F Ziegler in 1930. A San Gabriel Union Church member she served as deaconess and held church offices. Survivors include her husband a daughter a granddaughter and her parents. Interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
Tribune staffers plan to publish The Tribune early next week as a Christmas present to readers. Advertisers and correspondents are asked to send notices by Thursday.
San Marino lights up for Christmas as wind storms fade and rain continues. City Hall trees glow blue stars greet drivers while Saint Albans road hosts towering evergreens. Lorain road Santa Claus greets locals as the town readies for Christmas Day celebrations.
Santa Claus will visit San Marino on Tuesday December 22 and Wednesday December 23 per the San Marino Chamber of Commerce. He will meet youths in business areas on Tuesday evening and speak with children at the Little Christmas Church on Huntington Drive and San Marino Avenue. if rain, he will be at City Hall on Wednesday.
Funeral services were held at St James Episcopal Church in South Pasadena for Mrs. Sarah H. Nash of South Pasadena formerly of this city. She died December 17 and had lived in South Pasadena and San Marino for 42 years. She founded the San Marino Womans Club and belonged to the San Marino Womens Republican Club Federated. Surviving relatives include her grandson William Wood of Santa Ana a sister Mrs E S Danser of Spokane and a brother Willard Gregg of Laredo. Dr Gilbert Prinz officiated with directors Turner Stevens and Eggleston.
During the Christmas season the San Marino Fire Department urges caution with decorations and trees. Chief Art Hughes notes fires at home during holidays are usually caused by burning gift wrappings and trees in the fireplace and by decorative candles in unstable holders surrounded by non flame proof material.
The San Marino Chamber of Commerce announces Christmas music at Little Church on Huntington drive and San Marino avenue. Choristers perform at 7 30 p m on December 22 by San Marino Congregational Church children, followed by St Felicitas and Perpetua Church children the next night. Christmas Eve features San Marino Community Church children at 7 30 p m and 8 30 p m.
San Marinans are expected to attend Christmas day and eve services across city churches joining families and neighbors in carols like O Come All Ye Faithful Hark The Herald Angels Sing and Silent Night The article notes the holiday spirit and community gathering.

The Huntington Library presents a holiday exhibit of four fifteenth century books printed in Augsburg Antwerp and Rome dated 1473 and 1484. Their anonymous woodcuts depict the Annunciation Nativity Adoration of the Magi and Flight into Egypt as a historic view of Christmas lore.
Government and school offices will close on Christmas Day. The San Marino Public Library shuts from noon December 24 until 9 a.m. December 26. Huntington Library and Art Gallery stays closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and also New Year’s Day.
