Titans Fall After Early Lead In Cathedral Loss
Titan varsity basketball dropped a 52 45 decision to Cathedral after leading by 11 at halftime. Gary Stevens led Titans with 16 points while both Stevens and John Howe fouled out, tangling the late rally as Cathedral pulled away. Coach Garland Lewis plans a fixed starting unit and stresses better team play and fewer turnovers as the season progresses. The squad, young and tall, gains experience in upcoming tournaments in Temple City and Covina.

Titan Wrestlers Prep For Northview Tournament
San Marino high school wrestling team will face 31 rivals at the Northview Tournament at Northview High School. Roger Freeburg won heavyweight at Baldwin Park Varsity last Saturday. San Marino beat San Gabriel 48 13 with pins by Wright McNamara Armstrong Ferguson Therriot and Freeburg and wins by Abbott Pichel and Fister.

Local Red Cross Drive Reaches 82 Percent Mark

Education Tour Blends Learning and Culture Across Four Nations
The Dan Ellises of Del Mar Avenue joined 124 educators on a 22 day seminar and field study in Finland Russia Czechoslovakia and Spain. In Helsinki they met municipal leaders visited schools and had a City Hall luncheon. In Leningrad and Moscow they met students and teachers and discussed educational topics while political talk remained off limits.

Police nab three youths in burglary probe
Police received a tip about a suspicious vehicle in front of Clarence Clark's home on Bedford road. School Board Rejects Bids On Furnishings and Shelving
The Board of Education rejected all bids for high school and Huntington resource center furniture and shelving after Culver-Newlin Inc submitted the only bid totaling 31669.53, above the 28068 estimate. The project will be rebid after the new year. A separate contract for Valentine School lunch shelter went to A. C. Isensee of Glendora for 4969 plus performance bond costs.

Rear End Collision Sends Driver to Hospital
A rear end collision at Huntington drive and Del Mar avenue left Jeffrey A. Schroeder of Alhambra colliding with Dorothy Richardson of Arcadia. Both cars were eastbound and stopped at a red light. Richardson was hospitalized via San Marino ambulance. Schroeder also taken to the hospital.
