San Marino resident named NCCJ Southern California co chairman

The National Conference of Christians and Jews selects Peter de Wetter of San Marino as presiding co chairman for the Southern California Region in 1988. A National Medical Enterprises executive, de Wetter shares the post with Mildred Lillie and Byron Allumbaugh, while Edward Sanders and others join in as past leaders and supporters of regional efforts as the group marks its 40th anniversary in the area. De Wetter previously led Bekins Company and ran his own transport business, and serves on multiple civic boards and United Way committees.

Huntington Acquires Ambrosiaster Manuscript at London Auction

Huntington Library purchases the 12th century Ambrosiaster from the Estelle Doheny collection auction in London for about 90 pounds after commissions, aided by a gift from the Dan Murphy Foundation.
