Christmas Tale Retold for Woman's Club

The San Marino Woman's Club held a Christmas program at Huntington school auditorium with carols, a living nativity scene, and a Behold the Glory enactment by Miriam Marmein. New members were introduced and a silver collection for Los Amigos Rancho and San Gabriel Welfare was taken. A Christmas tea followed in the gymnasium hosted by club officers and members.

Christmas Story Told in Songs and Tableau at Huntington

The December 9 Valentine Huntington Parent-Teacher Association meeting at Huntington school auditorium featured an eighth grade cast in a moving Christmas story sung by combined glee clubs led by Kenneth White. Mrs Emily Leonard directed, with Carson Blake of First Presbyterian Pasadena speaking on generosity and sharing.

Two Accidents Reported in San Marino Week

San Marino Police investigate two crashes from the past week. On Saturday at 4 03 p m two cars on St Albans Road near Lorain collided, with Mason Whittenberg Inglewood and Floyd Franklin Wilson San Gabriel driving southbound. Original Yule Arrangements Shown to Club

Judy McQuiston and her daughter Nancy presented Christmas arrangements to the San Marino Garden Club despite a burned hand. The display featured a Three Wise Men mantel piece, Madonna on a pine theme, starry tables, and modern glass arrangements. Accident Brings Death to Col A H Fricke

Marine Corps Colonel A H Fricke, 51, commanding officer of the Amphibious Corps at Camp Pendleton, died last Wednesday December 8 from injuries after an auto crash on the Coast Highway near San Clemente. A veteran of many campaigns, he served in the Southwest Pacific Iceland Nicaragua China and Haiti. He is survived by his widow Athea and two daughters Valerie and Audrey.

Children From Welfare Mission Guests at Party

The San Marino Girl Scouts hosted about 100 children from the San Gabriel Welfare Mission at their annual Christmas party last Friday. Each Girl Scout prepared a wrapped gift for her guest under the decorated tree. Mrs. Barbara Kermode, Pasadena's new Girl Scout executive, spoke and led carols as both groups performed traditional and local songs. Santa arrived with helpers to distribute presents and cookies to all attendees.

Vagrant Ordered to Stay Out of City for Two Years

A man arrested in San Marino Monday morning was ordered to stay away for two years on a suspended sentence of 500 dollars fine or 250 days in jail after being found hiding near 810 Granada. Local officers Miller Brennan and Norwood assisted Alhambra police in the chase.
