Christmas Tale Retold for Woman's Club
The San Marino Woman's Club held a Christmas program at Huntington school auditorium with carols, a living nativity scene, and a Behold the Glory enactment by Miriam Marmein. New members were introduced and a silver collection for Los Amigos Rancho and San Gabriel Welfare was taken. A Christmas tea followed in the gymnasium hosted by club officers and members.

Accident Brings Death to Col A H Fricke
Marine Corps Colonel A H Fricke, 51, commanding officer of the Amphibious Corps at Camp Pendleton, died last Wednesday December 8 from injuries after an auto crash on the Coast Highway near San Clemente. A veteran of many campaigns, he served in the Southwest Pacific Iceland Nicaragua China and Haiti. He is survived by his widow Athea and two daughters Valerie and Audrey.

Children From Welfare Mission Guests at Party
The San Marino Girl Scouts hosted about 100 children from the San Gabriel Welfare Mission at their annual Christmas party last Friday. Each Girl Scout prepared a wrapped gift for her guest under the decorated tree. Mrs. Barbara Kermode, Pasadena's new Girl Scout executive, spoke and led carols as both groups performed traditional and local songs. Santa arrived with helpers to distribute presents and cookies to all attendees.
