Carver Toy Drive Ends Friday with Fire Department Help
Tomorrow is the final day for Carver Elementary toy drive led by kindergarten teachers Diane Connelly and Carole Hasbun with parent volunteer Jorge Ruiz. Donations of new unwrapped toys can be dropped at the school office or delivered to fire stations or CVS after December 15, all toys going to needy children through Toys for Tots.

Traffic Stop Leads to Firearm Drug Bust at San Marino
San Marino police stopped a vehicle at Huntington Drive and Virginia Road on December 12 at 5 53 pm arresting the female driver for a suspended license and the male passenger for possession of a loaded 380 pistol with five bullets and a chamber round. A search revealed a loaded 22 caliber handgun with a silencer, about 270 grams of methamphetamine, and burglary tools. Theresa Danette Martus 37 of San Gabriel and Michael Anthony Arellano 28 of Los Angeles face multiple felonies in Alhambra Superior Court.

Tyler's Team Aims to Break $100,000 Fundraising Goal
Tyler's Team of San Marino High School alumni formed in 1999 in memory of Tyler George who died of leukemia. The group has donated $90,000 to leukemia research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles through fundraisers. The 2007 banquet on February 9 at Café Santorini in Pasadena will include a silent auction with prizes from local businesses and will feature Dr. Barry Maurer of CHLA as keynote speaker.

City Manager Affirms Library Shortfall Will Be Funded
San Marino City Manager Matt Ballantyne says city reserves will cover any remaining library shortfall if fundraising fails.
