A solemn requiem mass was held for Mrs. John A. McCone of Oak Grove Avenue at St. Philip's Church in Pasadena. Cardinal McIntyre presided. rosary was recited at the McCone home. she died December 6 in Washington, D.C., at age 53.

San Marino Board of Education authorized an emergency boiler replacement at Huntington School during holidays. E. O. Nay Company bid $7,716 for a new boiler and required equipment. The meeting also covered an experimental individualized reading program at Carver School led by William Higman and Mrs. Alice Higgins, aimed at self paced reading.
