Santa Claus Arrives for City Park Christmas Party
Santa Claus will visit City Park today for the Huntington and Stoneman Schools children’s party at 1 p.m. A processional around the tree will feature gifts and candy stockings for about 1200 children and parents. P.T.A. welfare chairmen will distribute donations collected this week, including canned goods clothing and toys, to eligible youngsters.

City Council Approves Huntington Pool Plans After Petition

Madman Sniper Briefly Haunts San Marino and Alhambra
A notorious gunman, dubbed the madman, visited San Marino and pursued a chase through the San Gabriel Valley. He fled north on Old Mill road in Alhambra where he shot himself as police closed in. Officer Raymond Bahn identified the suspect’s car on Huntington drive before the escape. A thorough neighborhood search failed to locate the man afterward.

Big Water District Approves Major Colorado River AOL Contracts
The Metropolitan Water District board approved a seven million dollar contract for cement totaling five million barrels for the Colorado River Aqueduct. It awarded Griffith Company a 1,739,846.24 dollar contract for about 13 miles of conduit and siphons and accepted a 12.096 million dollar bond purchase from Reconstruction Finance Corp. The action seals key construction funding for the aqueduct project.

San Marino Boy Scout Council Organized at Scout Cabin
The San Marino Boy Scout Council for the San Marino Community was formally organized last Tuesday night at the San Marino Scout Cabin with representatives from San Marino City Club, San Marino Community Council, San Marino American Legion Post 239, and three San Marino troops. Palmer Conner was elected chairman. Chesney W. Carver and C. W. Cornell were named vice chairmen. C. N. Rudkin became secretary and Fred Dickey treasurer. The group planned the next court of honor for January 31, 1935 to be held in San Marino.
