Huntington Receives Parsons Foundation Gift
The Huntington Library receives 450000 from the Ralph M Parsons Foundation for the Ralph M Parsons Botanical Center in the new wing. Total gifts bring the four phase improvement program to 6.3 million with 68 foundations backing the effort. Completion target is July 1 with endowment funds planned for 1981.

Thomas A. Batson longtime San Marino resident and businessman died in his sleep on Sunday December 7. Born in Wayzata Minnesota he studied at local high school earned Eagle Scout and later Stanford graduate. He helped found the San Marino Office of Equitable Life and held numerous public service roles including Rotary president 1950 51 Silver Beaver Award Scoutmaster San Marino City Club and church trusteeship. Memorial service at San Marino Community Church December 11. Donations to Rotary Foundation Stadium Committee or Boy Scouts.
