Identity of Pussy-Foot Burglar Sought By San Marino Police
San Marino police seek the so called pussy-foot burglar after he raided the W. D. Rorex home taking a $750 fur coat and $200 cash Saturday night. Chief Glenn McClung says leads point to a possible identity. The intruder entered by drilling two holes in a window sash and used a wire to open the hasp. He warned the maid and fled, wearing tennis shoes to mask his approach. The Rorexes reside at 1420 St Albans Road and formerly owned racehorse Texas Sandman.

San Marin Man Escapes Injury In Plane Crash
Friends of the H H Ozenghars 2616 Monterey road learn their son Lt Homer H Ozenghar was uninjured when a B 29 plane he rode in was demolished in a crash last Saturday. The aircraft from MacDill Air Force Base Tampa Florida was en route to Great Falls and crashed at Lowry Base Denver Colorado while landing. Other crew members were injured but Ozenghar reported he was not hurt.

Navy names Thomas Burbridge Hill Rear Admiral
The Navy promotes Thomas Burbridge Hill to rear admiral with permanent rank. He informed his wife Lillian and children at Cripple Creek Colorado after receiving notice December 1. Hill served as captain and chief gunnery officer to Admiral Nimitz and later commanded the battleship Missouri, the vessel where Japan’s peace treaty was signed.

Break Ground For New San Marino Escrow Building
Ground was broken Tuesday morning for the San Marino Escrow Company building to be erected in the 2000 block of Huntington Drive. C. T. Cassidy of Arcadia leads the concrete frame, a one story 22 by 50 foot structure with rear parking and a modern marquee. Occupancy is slated for about February 1. Kenneth J. Good of 1806 Twin Palms organized the company. William B. Vanderhoof, president of San Marino Properties, Incorporated, says this is the first of several buildings planned for the block.

Cars crash on Garfield Avenue injures no one
Harold Jenkins of Alhambra was thrown to the floor of his panel truck when it bounced to the curb after colliding with Anna Gibbs of 1505 Wilson avenue on Garfield avenue Tuesday afternoon. Both drivers escaped injury though Jenkins was unable to avoid the crash as Gibbs entered the intersection from Oak street. The truck suffered a torn left front fender a bent wheel and heavy body damage while the Gibbs car had a smashed front end.
