Santa Claus will greet children at the Little Christmas House in San Marino on Saturday December 7. A San Marino Chamber of Commerce representative says photo sessions run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is at San Marino Avenue and Huntington Drive. Santa’s next visit is on Christmas morning with reindeer to spread cheer.

The San Marino Schools Foundation begins a search for 10 trustees to start three year terms in July 1997. Open to any San Marino Unified School District area resident, applicants should submit a letter of interest and biography to the foundation. For inquiries contact Kathryn Sweeney at (818) 289-1735. The foundation has contributed over $7.3 million to the district, averaging more than $765,000 annually. Trustees attend meetings, represent the foundation, and work on fundraising in four areas.

Public Library Foundation completes fundraising phase
At the October City Council meeting the unanimous vote to approve the Public Library contract with DRA for an automated library system brought relief to the San Marino Public Library Foundation Directors. Over a year more than 18 volunteers led by Selma Sax funded most of the automation costs. Enough money was raised to meet the projected price.
