Three Homes Burglarized In Two Days

A string of burglaries hits a city district with three homes broken into in two days. Police identify two suspects and note a purse left near a hedge and a gold chain valued at unknown amount as stolen items. Officers question a man seen near the Euclid Avenue area as inquiries continue.

Sports Guild to Be Formed Tuesday Night

Santa Anita Sewer Project Moves Forward With Bids

Santa Anita City Council discussed the Ridgeway sewer bids totaling 6335 to 9480, forwarding them to City Attorney Woodward Taylor and City Engineer Harold Barnett for review with a report due December 9. Separate bids for the Pasqualito sewer protest were also reviewed, and a quarantine for dogs in San Marino was approved. The Huntington Land and Improvement Co seeks rezoning at Huntington Drive and Granada Avenue from residential to business.

Local Chest Reaches 92.7 Percent of Goal

San Marino Community Chest reports 92.7 percent of its $6100 goal raised. General Campaign Chairman J P Whitmore announces ongoing efforts to close the drive this week. Many subscribers who missed solicitors or promised mail pledges are urged to send contributions to the San Marino Branch at Security First National Bank.

Business Club to Have Xmas Party Monday

The San Marino Business Association will hold its Christmas party Monday night December 7 during the monthly dinner at the Huntington school cafeteria. Members and guests will bring a wrapped white elephant gift to be distributed by Santa Claus. A Christmas tree and carol singing will enhance the festive occasion.

Drunk Driver Crashes New Car Near Palmas Station

Daniel Flynn Campbell, intoxicated, rear ended a new Buick on the Huntington North side near Palmas station. He was treated for cuts and abrasions at Alhambra Health Center, jailed in San Marino on $150 bail for drunk in auto. Mrs Cora Nazra of North Kenmore LA drove the new car, three passengers unharmed.

Yel land Injured After Drunken Crash in Pasadena

Police report Harry E Yelland of 111 Backus Avenue Pasadena struck a eucalyptus tree on San Gabriel Boulevard near Lombardy Road shortly before midnight Tuesday. He was treated at Saint Luke's Hospital for a compound fracture of the left knee facial cuts and shock. The car sustained severe damage.

Three-car Thanksgiving crash injures Pasadena man

On Thanksgiving afternoon a crash at Los Robles and Marengo involving three cars caused injuries to Charles Pope of 40 West Mountain Pasadena. He was transported by Bond Ambulance to Alhambra Health.

Marino Boat Owners Suffer Losses In Storm

Salvaging their twenty five foot schooner Morisoa sunk during a severe storm on Monday night. Dr and Mrs E H Morrissey returned home after seeing their boat being rehabilitated. We Ton a dragged moorings and collided with Morisea causing sinking and loss of equipment. Velocity ranged 36 to 60 mph and storm damaged piers and boats along Newport Harbor and nearby shores.

Huntington PTA Members Visit Classrooms in Open Night

On Tuesday evening December 1 Huntington school opened all classrooms for parents. Teachers explained semester work, aims, and materials. The school shop interested fathers and at 9 o clock dismissal followed with a gym social hour hosted by mothers of 7B and 7A.
