Local Policeman Collapses at Home in Pasadena

Final Rites Held for Nancy B. Sheppard
Final rites were observed for Nancy Brower Sheppard last Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the Little Stone Church of Turner Stevens and Turner in Alhambra. Dr P Martin Baker officiated. Sheppard was killed in an automobile accident on November 22 on Highway 101 near Huntington Beach. She is survived by her husband James Carroll Sheppard III, her parents Horace W Brower and Mrs Brower, and grandparents Mr and Mrs William N Brower of Los Angeles.

Fatal hotrod crash claims 18 year old Vandervort
James Kenneth Vandervort aged 18 of 1380 Bellwood was killed after a hotrod outbreak at about 80 mph when a V shaped towing device propped against the radiator struck the pavement and the car vaulted. He died at Huntington Memorial Hospital from severe head injuries after the November 28 incident. Funeral services were held at Calvary Presbyterian Church in South Pasadena. Surviving parents and grandparents are named with locations in Illinois and California.
