The San Marino Board of Education heard a plan to fund an estimated 32000 to 35008 air conditioning project for 12 San Marino High School classrooms next fiscal year. Superintendent Walter Dingus conveyed the proposal and urged scheduling the work.
San Marino Republican Women’s Club promotes the ACTT program from the Young Republican National Federation to gather food clothing toys and medical supplies for delivery to South Vietnam via train and truck. Local chairs are Mrs. Garrison and Mrs. Harbison with a drop-off at 2150 Roanoke Road through December 20. A Philadelphia departure December 7 will feed feeder trains and trucks along the route to San Francisco for shipment.
The San Marino Little Christmas Church will be rebuilt at Hustington Drive and San Marino Avenue. Construction starts Saturday morning December 11 with completion expected by Sunday December 12. City officials and volunteers led by Rockwood Neilson of the Chamber of Commerce will assemble the structure, which will stand through the New Year holiday. Local boards support the plan and funds from last year cover repair costs.
Mrs Don Hayden Rose of Waverly road is named general chairman of the Ivy Baker Priest campaign for California treasurer. Priest, US treasurer under Eisenhower, says the move promotes more women in politics and that women can handle political duties beyond a ladies auxiliary. Rose, long active in civic affairs, has chaired Nixon campaigns in San Marino and the San Gabriel Valley and supported Evelle Younger for district attorney.
San Marino American Legion Post 239 plans a college scholarship for a high school student who is the son or grandson of a legionnaire as part of its Americanism program. Monroe B. Wilson, post commander, says the award amount and criteria are not yet determined.
Americn Field Service asks families to host two foreign exchange students for the 1966 school year at San Marino High School. Interviews start in January. final selection by AFS New York. Hosts provide meals and housing, student gets $14 monthly allowance, AFS covers medical expenses except routine care. Families may deduct $50 monthly for taxes.
San Marino High School aims for a third consecutive CIF cross country championship with coach Bradford leading the varsity runners at Long Beach State College. Titans Ken Hughes posted 11 00.5 for first on a challenging course as Tom Chappell and Bill Kilpatrick followed. La Salle and Yucaipa trailed in team standings as 25 to 30 Interact Club members wash windshields Saturday leaving publicity cards for upcoming school events.

San Marino High School presents Rose Franken's popu lar comedy drama Claudia on Friday at 8 30 pm in the Little Theater. Performances continue December 4 10 and 11 with a $1 50 admission. Lead roles are Karen Henrickson and Scott MacNair. director is King Stuart.
City officials report theft of two stop signs at Granada and Huntington streets on Tuesday. Replacement cost set at 57 dollars.
City representatives and Caltech faculty discussed a tentative mutual aid program. City Manager Richard Malcolm said students from the technical college could work with city departments to gain administrative experience and offer engineering design suggestions for maintenance projects. The meeting was attended by Malcolm, Mayor Harry Hitchcock, and five Caltech faculty members.
San Marino volunteers hand out decorated Christmas trees to local merchants as a token of appreciation. A panel of judges will tomorrow award ribbons for Most Beautiful and Most Original tree displays.
A car struck a tree and light pole on Los Robles avenue, dragging the debris. Driver Angelo R. Reboni of San Gabriel escaped injury in the lateWednesday crash near Los Robles and Montrobles place, reported by San Marino police.
A large group of San Mari mans will attend a testimonial dinner honoring Morrie Ryskind Pulitzer Prize winning dramatist and screen writer turned political pundit and syndicated columnist Monday evening December 13 at the Beverly Hilton hotel. The Beverly Hills Republican Club sponsors the event with Donald Jackson former Congressman as MC and William F Buckley Jr National Review editor as speaker. The San Marino Community Council board will convene at 7:30 p.m. Monday December 6 in City Hall Council Chambers. The 108 member board includes two representatives from each church club PTA and fraternal group and an equal number from residences at large. It oversees the Community Chest and coordinates welfare and environmental projects for the city.
A runaway car rolled from a driveway on Monterey road and struck Milton Wood of Altadena, then jumped the curb and crashed into a residence wall at 2505 Monterey road. Roy Walworth, owner living at 2465 Monterey road, allegedly had an emergency brake slip off the vehicle.
Mrs. John A. Murphy reports that despite bad weather reducing donor turnout 108 pints were donated at the Blood Bank held November 19 at St. Felicitas and Perpetua Church in San Marino. A crowd of 115 at San Marino High saluted the 1965 Titan C football team the most successful in school history. Guests included coaches McNamee Gordien Mrs. Gordien Garland Lewis athletics director Augustus Braun and Mrs Braun. Thirty three letters were awarded with captain Mike Troy MVP Bob Hackney and most improved Steve Harwood named.
