Huntington Westerners honored by California Sesquicentennial Commission

A new judge David Yaffe set the Oct 30 hearing date while Judge Diane Wayne retired July 31. Cal-American Water to Meet With Residents Next Tuesday

California-American Water Co will meet with residents affected by three 1,000 gal per minute booster pumps at the Longden reservoir site. The Tuesday Sept 2 meeting at 6 p.m. aims to address concerns as operations manager Terry Ryan says the project is innocuous and will reactivate the Longden Well removed in 1990 for nitrate issues. Resident Richard Peters remains wary as some traffic is anticipated.

Watson Laughed Often Greatly Loved by Many

Fred Boynton Watson 72 born March 10 1925 in Los Angeles died Aug 16 while at a party with wife Ada after 50 years of marriage and children. A San Marino resident for 38 years he attended multiple schools and universities. He led Cook Boynton Co. Food Brokers and held various society roles and clubs. He loved San Marino and friends.

Street Trees Again Lit Up in SM Commercial Districts

The City of San Marino and the Chamber of Commerce will illuminate Christmas trees in the commercial districts. Merchants pay for lights and cables while the city funds installation. $65 per tree, checks due by September 19 to the Chamber at 2304 Huntington Drive, San Marino 91108. Ext cords and a power outlet at each business are required.
